Summer Tour Series
 The Summer Tour Series celebrates Springfield’s distinctive architecture and history with eighteen amazing tours. The series starts in late May and runs throughout the summer. Architects, historians, curators, and local professionals guide each tour. The 2011 series includes walking tours, youth tours, happy hour tours, and our all new bicycle tours.

 

Walking Tours
This summer’s series features eleven walking tours, including three new tours: Hills and Dales, Belmont Meadows, and a completely reworked Downtown West. Popular tours of East High Street, South Fountain Avenue, Ferncliff Cemetery, Snyder Park, and Irish Hill also return. View Schedule and Purchase Tickets

Happy Hour Tours
Join us for the best hour all week at one of our Happy Hour Tours. There forty-five minute walking tours of downtown architecture are followed by a tasty beer or soda at Seasons Bistro and Grille. It's a great way to end the day! All Happy Hour tours are on Wednesdays starting at 6:00 pm. Ticket price includes the tour and one drink. View Schedule and Purchase Tickets

Youth Tours
Our youth tours are interpreted specifically for children ages 7-12. Our trained and knowledgeable guides share amazing details and fascinating stories about our community’s buildings, encouraging a lifelong connection to and appreciation for Springfield’s rich history and architecture. Tour lasts forty-five minutes to an hour. Rain dates are the following day at 1 pm. This summer’s Downtown Safari Youth Tour is free for children. Registration is required. Bicycle Tours
This year’s series includes our all new bicycle tours. These tours last approximately two hours and cover four to six miles at a leisurely pace. Tours utilize our wonderful bicycle paths and side streets whenever possible. We have three inaugural bicycle tours: Westcott and the Progressive Era, Mid- Century Modern West, and Quirky Springfield. Bicycle required. Helmets recommended. View Schedule and Purchase Tickets

History, Hymns & Holly 2011
Looking for a unique and inspiring holiday experience? Join us in December for an evening of music, art, and architecture at History, Hymns, & Holly: A Holiday Tour of Churches. Tour stops come to life with the sounds of local musicians performing your favorite holiday hymns. And of course, no holiday tour is complete without delicious hot cocoa and tasty holidays cookies to enjoy!

Members Only Tours
 In 2011, the Springfield Preservation Alliance will kick off our members only events, touring behind the scenes of some of Springfield's great buildings. It takes the hard work and support of countless members and volunteers to be able to offer our programs and services. This is our way of saying thank you. Stay tuned for more information.

Group and Bus Tours
 In addition to our Summer Walking Tour Series, the Springfield Preservation Alliance offers walking tours for groups by special appointment. Tours cost $10 per person, with a $100 minimum. Three week advanced registration is recommended. Most tours offered throughout the summer are available by special appointment, including the East High Street Historic District, Ferncliff Cemetery, College Hill Historic District, and Downtown as a Work of Art.
