Springfield Historic Landmarks Commission
With city ordinance 1321 in 1984, the City of Springfield established the Springfield Historic Landmarks Commission to provide for the protection and enhancement of Springfield's  distinctive historic character. This commission reviews proposed alteration or demolition of certain notable structures, works of art, objects, and areas within the City of Springfield. These are listed on the Springfield Register of Historic Properties.
